JOB SUMMARY
The AVP of DSI will lead the development and execution of the credit union’s digital strategy, drive online new account acquisition, and ensure the continuous development of the AI bot to enhance member service. The VP will collaborate with cross-functional teams, stay up-to-date on industry trends, and monitor performance to drive innovation, improve member experience, and achieve organizational goals.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Digital Journey: lead the development and execution of the credit union’s digital strategy, ensuring alignment with organization goals and member expectations. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the user experience, increase engagement, and optimize conversion rates across all digital channels.
- Online New Account Acquisition: develop and implement strategies to drive online new account acquisition. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize the account opening process, streamline workflows, and leverage data analytics to identify opportunities for growth and increase conversion rates.
- System Management & Optimization: Oversee the implementation, integration, and management of digital systems, ensuring they operate efficiently and support the organization's digital goals. Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to troubleshoot issues, improve system performance, and enhance digital tools for members.
- Innovation and Emerging Technologies: stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies related to digital banking, fintech, and consumer experience. Identify and evaluate opportunities to leverage new technologies to drive innovation and improve operational efficiency.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with internal stakeholders and peer groups to ensure alignment and successful execution of digital initiatives. Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous
- improvement across the organization.
- Leadership and Team Development: Provide strong leadership, engage and motivate the team, and promote their development. This includes serving as a role model for UCU’s core values and cultural imperatives.
- Contribute to a thriving team and drive the success of the digital strategy and innovation efforts.
QualificationsKNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: Strong understanding of digital banking trends, consumer behavior, and
emerging digital and associated technologies.
Familiarity with Artificial Intelligence, machine learning, and chatbot technologies.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Minimum 5 years of experience in digital strategy, product management,
or related roles within the financial services industry.
Proven track record of driving digital transformation and delivering innovative solutions to significantly enhance user experience.
Experience with online new account opening acquisition and onboarding processes.
Experience leading, developing, engaging and motivating a team. Experience collaborating and leading across cross-functional teams

ADA Requirements:
Physical Requirements
If based remotely, may be required to travel to the UCU HQ in Los Angeles and to other UCU locations, as required to meet the needs of the role and the business, so must be able to travel and move within buildings to perform both sedentary and active work (standing and presenting, attending functions) work requiring occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including a computer, telephone, copier, and calculator. Must be able to routinely perform work on a computer for extended periods daily. Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular reliable, and timely attendance that aligns with the pacific time zone.
Working Conditions
If working onsite, must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with some noise. If working remotely from a home office, must be able to work in a separate, quiet area, for extended periods on a computer.
Mental and/or Emotional Requirements
Must be able to perform job functions independently or with limited supervision and work effectively either on own or as part of a team. Must be able to read and carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions. Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence.
Must be capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization and demonstrate highest levels of customer service and discretion when dealing with the public. Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines / requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace. Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities. Must be capable of exercising highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential matters.
