About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Market Risk Specialist -

In this role, you will:

  • Participate in developing, maintaining and providing oversight of market, interest rate and counterparty risk activities across the enterprise

  • Identify opportunity to ensure risk remains within established risk appetite in Market Risk

  • Perform or evaluate basic risk models such as trading, market, interest rate, delivery and counterparty credit risk exposures

  • Ensure that risks within the business are properly identified and consistent with the Risk Management Framework

  • Present recommendations for resolving risk issues, limits or capital use and provide reporting while also assessing theory and mathematics behind various models

  • Exercise independent judgment while developing expertise to perform activities for evaluating and approving risk models

  • Collaborate and consult with management and board of directors to provide periodic or scheduled risk reports that present a companywide view of risk management


Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of market risk, Capital Markets, desk analyst, trading, interest rate risk or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of capital markets experience, preferably in Risk.
  • Experience in Counterparty Credit Risk Analytics Management, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education Financial Industry/Banking background
  • Familiarity with Traded Securities and Derivative Products (types, pricing and risks)
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to independently prioritize and organize workload to meet deadlines
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Experience in Financial Modeling or Stress Testing
  • Working knowledge of VBA, Python and/or SQL
  • Understanding of Counterparty Credit Risk concepts including Potential Future Exposure (PFE), Credit Support Annex (CSA), Value At Risk (VAR), margining and netting.
  • Proven ability to complete large and/or complex projects and/ or initiatives


Job Expectations:

  • Develop, enhance and generate counterparty risk reports for traded product portfolios.
  • Assist in day-to-day troubleshooting, including investigating counterparty credit risk system or model issues then provide potential improvement.
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis (stress testing, scenario analysis) to support risk management decision making and/or management inquiries.
  • Work with various credit and risk teams to remediate issues and implement enhancements.
  • Assist in the preparation of counterparty credit risk presentations and internal credit documents (policies, procedures, memos).
