Location: This position does not support teleworking. You will need to live near Lockheed Martin Space facility and be expected to work a flexible 9x80 schedule in the office full-time.

What does this role look like?

The FBM Program is experiencing significant growth, and we need your expertise to deliver amazing new technologies to our customers while maintaining the technical requirements of the strategic deterrence. The Mechanical, Harness & Parts Engineering Manager is a leader on the LE2 – Tactical Avionics team supporting the Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) program. You will lead the engineering execution of the design and integration of Mechanical, Harness, and Parts (MH&P) hardware for the Tactical Avionics subsystem. Work is focused on delivering hardware deliverables on schedule. This role blends electrical‑hardware design, system integration, and development in a fast‑paced, mission‑oriented environment.

Key activities you will accomplish in this role:

• This role reports directly to the D5LE2 Tactical Avionics Sr Engineering Mgr.
• This role will encompass all Development and Production scope for the Enclosures, Harness, connectors, pressure transducers, Gages, Water cooling, and EEE Parts for the Tactical Avionics portion of the D5LE2 missile.
• Lead the development and release process of all engineering artifacts required to support build of Enclosures, Harness, connectors, pressure transducers, Gages, Water cooling, EEE Parts, and other miscellaneous materials need to support the build process.
• Be the single engineering authority for all subcontracts actions including SOW, Specs, RFP, Proposal technical evaluations, contract negotiations, and supplier technical direction.
• Lead the technical execution of component build and test at suppliers and support test planning and execution at the AI&T facility.
• Lead the product development and work with the AI&T team for successful package level build and test.
• Lead Production planning and preparation efforts inclusive of material acquisition, facility and test planning, support equipment planning, and requirements generation.
• Report status of all deliverables to the D5LE2 Tactical Avionics program managers (PMs).
• Provide technical guidance and status to Executive leadership including the FBM Director of Avionics and the D5LE2 Program Director.

To be effective in this role, you will need:

• BS in Engineering or related STEM degree.

• 2+ years leadership experience developing products for high reliability Aerospace applications.

• Must have an active DoD Secret clearance, thus you are a US Citizen.

Responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions. Oversees support and participation in the design, test, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electromechanical systems.

Basic Qualifications

• BS in Electromechanical, Mechanical , Electrical, Aerospace Engineering or related STEM degree.
• 2+ years of management or leadership experience.

Desired Skills

• Experience in the design of connectors, cable harnesses, enclosures, or EEE parts for high-reliability Aerospace applications.
• Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice.
