Avionic Design Engineer

Description

Join CAE as an Avionic Design Engineer in Dublin, Ireland, supporting the production of approved design documentation within an EASA Part 21J Design Organisation.

Reporting to the Design Manager, you will help ensure that engineering designs and documents comply with all applicable airworthiness and environmental protection requirements. This is a permanent position offering hybrid working, with approximately two to three days per week on site.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce EASA Part 21J design documentation within the scope of the Design Organisation’s approval.
• Ensure that engineering documents can comply with applicable airworthiness and environmental protection requirements.
• Compile substantiation documentation to demonstrate compliance with relevant electrical and avionic airworthiness requirements.
• Prepare test plans and test reports.
• Produce compliance statements, compliance checklists, and engineering analysis documents.
• Prepare design documentation and Instructions for Continued Airworthiness.
• Create engineering drawings and wiring diagrams.
• Produce change bulletins and accomplishment instructions.
• Liaise with Compliance Verification Engineers to support the demonstration of compliance with applicable airworthiness and environmental protection requirements.
• Manage design change projects from initiation through to completion.
• Work collaboratively with relevant engineering, compliance, and project stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications

• At least three years of relevant experience working on aircraft electrical or avionic systems.
• Practical understanding of aircraft electrical and avionics systems.
• Experience producing, reviewing, or working with technical engineering documentation.
• Ability to interpret applicable technical and airworthiness requirements.
• Ability to manage design activities and priorities accurately and effectively.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and contribute within a multidisciplinary team.
• Ability to work from the Dublin location on a hybrid basis, normally two to three days per week on site.

Preferred Qualifications

• Five or more years of relevant experience working on aircraft electrical or avionic systems.
• A B1 or B2 aircraft maintenance licence, or relevant experience aligned with B1 or B2 responsibilities.
• Previous experience working within an EASA Part 21J Design Organisation.
• Experience producing electrical or avionic substantiation documents.
• Experience creating engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, change bulletins, and accomplishment instructions.
• Experience working with Compliance Verification Engineers.
• Experience managing aircraft design changes.
• Familiarity with Instructions for Continued Airworthiness and aircraft modification documentation.

Base Pay Range
