Aerodrome Management Services (AMS) is a professional services company providing a wide range of technical support and aerodrome management services to aerodrome owners and operators across Australia. Our growing team of aviation specialists provides support to our clients in the areas of aerodrome design, project management and construction, maintenance, technical inspections and aerodrome surveys, operational readiness, airport security, training, regulatory compliance, audits and ongoing daily operations.

About the role

AMS has an exciting opportunity for Aviation Screening Officers to join our team at Olympic Dam Airport on a casual basis. Successful applicants must be flexible and available to work Monday to Sunday between the hours of 5am and 8pm.

An Aviation Screener’s role is diverse, but ultimately focuses on ensuring the safety, security and integrity of the airport, aircraft, and passengers. The Aviation Screening Officer is responsible for providing a positive customer experience with attention to aviation security regulations at the Airport. The Officer would be involved with and responsible for the completion of all aviation screening tasks.

The candidate will have demonstrated abilities to work in a fast-paced changing environment, with a willingness to learn and train in the aviation sector. Ideally you will have proven experience and knowledge in the customer service industry.

Required Qualifications and Previous Experience:

• Either a Certificate II in Transport Security Protection or ability to obtain Full training may be provided to suitable applicants

• Ability to attain Dangerous Goods Awareness Training and First Aid certificate

• Hold or have the ability to hold an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC)

• Demonstrated ability to follow procedures and work well in public and a team

• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

• A professional attitude and excellent grooming standards

• High level of interpersonal and customer service skills
