As an Aviation Screening Officer at Certis, you’ll be on the frontline of national aviation security at Port Macquarie Airport Every shift, you’ll help ensure the safe and secure movement of passengers and cargo — playing a vital role in protecting Australia’s aviation network.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll combine advanced technology, critical thinking, and customer service skills to deliver world-class aviation security:

• X-Ray Screening & Analysis – Accurately interpret complex X-ray images to detect prohibited items
• Physical Inspections – Conduct frisk searches, bag checks and Explosive Trace Detection (ETD) procedures
• Access Control & Monitoring – Manage secure entry points using metal detectors and risk-based decision making
• Customer Service Excellence – Provide calm, professional assistance in dynamic airport environments
• Incident Response – Respond to alarms and security incidents in line with strict protocols
• Compliance & Reporting – Maintain accurate logs and adhere to CASA and aviation security regulations

What We’re Looking For

To be successful in this role, you must have:

✔ Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency

✔ Security Licence if you have one

✔ Valid Driver Licence and reliable transport

✔ Strong communication and customer service skills

✔ Professional presentation

✔ Ability to remain calm and manage conflict under pressure

✔ Eligibility to obtain and maintain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC)
