Quality and Safety Specialist – Rotary Wing

Reporting to the Head of Quality and Safety – Rotary Wing, Toll Aviation is seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified and experienced individuals for the position of Quality and Safety Specialist – Rotary Wing within the Rotary Wing Quality and Safety Department. Location will ideally be at Toll’s Bankstown airport Base, NSW, but can be open to limited alternative options.

This role offers an opportunity to contribute to the continued development, implementation, and enhancement of Toll Aviation's Safety Management System (SMS) and integrated Quality Management System (QMS), supporting safe, compliant, and effective rotary wing operations across the business.

About the Role

The Quality and Safety Specialist will play a key role in supporting operational and strategic Quality and Safety objectives through the delivery of assurance, risk management, audit, investigation, reporting, and continuous improvement activities.

Working closely with operational stakeholders, the successful candidate will contribute to the effective implementation and maintenance of quality and safety programs while promoting a positive safety culture and supporting Key position holders, and the Accountable manager, in ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory and organisational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

The Quality and Safety Specialist will be responsible for:

· Supporting initiatives that enable the delivery of the Quality and Safety Strategy and business improvement plans.

· Supporting the implementation and ongoing maintenance of the Safety Management System (SMS) and integrated Quality Management System (QMS).

· Coordinating and promoting safety communications and awareness activities.

· Collecting, analysing, and reporting Quality and Safety performance data, including the preparation of reports and meeting packs.

· Supporting and participating in Quality and Safety forums and meetings.

· Preparing for and facilitating Safety Action Group (SAG) meetings.

· Assisting with the facilitation of risk assessment workshops and monitoring risk review activities.

· Maintaining and supporting the management of Risk Registers.

· Conducting and overseeing internal audits and supporting external audit activities.

· Coordinating and conducting investigations into hazards, incidents, and occurrences, ensuring appropriate corrective actions and risk treatments are implemented by responsible managers.

· Monitoring corrective actions and risk treatment plans to ensure timely implementation and verification of effectiveness.

· Supporting emergency preparedness planning, exercises, and response capability.

· Administering and maintaining the approved Safety and Quality Management database.

· Assisting in the development, coordination, and delivery of Quality and Safety training programs and materials.

About You

To be considered for this opportunity, applicants should possess:

· Qualifications and/or demonstrated experience in Aviation Safety Management, Quality Management, Risk Management, Assurance, or a related discipline.

· Experience working within aviation Quality and Safety Management Systems.

· Knowledge of aviation regulatory requirements and industry best practice.

· Experience in conducting audits, investigations, and risk assessments and/or the ability to complete gap training.

· Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.

· Experience using safety and quality management software systems, including Air Maestro (desirable).

· The ability to work collaboratively across operational and corporate environments.

· A commitment to continuous improvement and fostering a positive safety culture.
