Job Description

 Réalta Technologies is looking for an experienced AVEVA PI System Engineer to support a leading animal health manufacturing facility based in Salamanca, Spain.
This role will focus on supporting and maintaining the site’s PI architecture and surrounding infrastructure within a GMP-regulated manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will work across PI System administration, infrastructure support, system integrations, and operational technology platforms including PAS-X and Octoplant.
The position would suit an engineer with strong experience supporting enterprise PI environments, infrastructure administration, and manufacturing system integrations across pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device, or animal health manufacturing sites.
 
Job Responsibilities
  • Support and maintain the site’s AVEVA PI System architecture and associated infrastructure.
  • Administer and support PI components including PI Data Archive, Asset Framework (AF), PI Vision, Interfaces, Integrators, and Notifications.
  • Monitor and maintain PI System performance, reliability, backups, patching, and overall system health.
  • Support integrations between PI and surrounding operational technology systems including PAS-X, Octoplant, SCADA, PLC, MES, and other manufacturing platforms.
  • Collaborate with Automation, IT, Manufacturing, and Digitalisation teams to ensure reliable data flow and system connectivity across the site.
  • Troubleshoot infrastructure, interface, connectivity, and historian-related issues across production and utility systems.
  • Support PI System upgrades, migrations, server lifecycle activities, and infrastructure improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in commissioning, system deployment, and operational support activities for new or modified systems.
  • Ensure all systems remain compliant with GMP, data integrity, cybersecurity, and site quality standards.
  • Support documentation activities including SOPs, configuration records, change controls, and technical documentation.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on system stability, data visibility, and operational efficiency.
Job Requirements
  • 5+ years’ experience supporting AVEVA/OSIsoft PI Systems within regulated pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device, or animal health environments.
  • Strong infrastructure and system administration experience across enterprise PI environments.
  • Hands-on experience with PI Data Archive, PI AF, PI Vision, PI Interfaces, Integrators, and PI System troubleshooting.
  • Experience supporting Windows Server environments, virtualised infrastructure, backups, patching, and system lifecycle management.
  • Experience integrating PI with operational technology systems including PAS-X, Octoplant, PLCs, SCADA, MES, or DCS platforms.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, utilities, filling lines, or process systems within GMP-regulated environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills across infrastructure and industrial data systems.
  • Understanding of GMP, validation, change control, data integrity, and cybersecurity requirements within regulated manufacturing.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with Automation, IT, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality teams.
  • Fluent Spanish is essential, with strong English communication skills also required.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills within regulated environments.
