Job Description

Leidos' Digital Modernization sector is seeking an AV Engineer SME.

The AV Engineer-SME provides senior technical leadership for backend AV/VTC infrastructure supporting SEC ISS contract operations. This role serves as the subject matter expert for enterprise video collaboration architecture, with primary responsibility for Polycom system design, integration, and reliability. The position ensures secure, high-availability conferencing capabilities across SEC collaboration platforms and supports high-visibility events, including commission meetings and agency town halls. The AV Engineer-_SME also leads process standardization, operational documentation, and complex troubleshooting to improve service continuity and user experience.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Backend VTC Architecture and Engineering

- Provide technical direction for enterprise backend AV/VTC infrastructure and architecture.

- Architect, integrate, and optimize Polycom-based systems as the primary technical SME.

- Maintain and improve conferencing platform interoperability and performance across Microsoft Teams and Cisco Webex environments.

- Oversee AV/VTC platform lifecycle activities, including upgrades, configuration standards, and operational resilience.

AV/VTC Operations and Event Support

- Ensure AV/VTC systems remain fully functional for conference rooms, large venues, and hybrid/remote meetings.

- Lead technical execution for mission-critical events, including town halls and open/closed commission meetings.

- Direct live audio/video workflows, streaming readiness, and coordination of accessibility services (captioning/sign language vendors).

- Oversee post-production support for recorded meetings and events to deliver high-quality final outputs.

Process, Documentation, and Service Governance

- Develop and maintain AV/VTC SOPs, runbooks, technical procedures, and post-production documentation.

- Establish and enforce incident response and escalation procedures for AV/VTC disruptions.

- Produce operational documentation and service reporting for leadership and contract oversight.

- Drive continuous process improvements that increase reliability, supportability, and customer satisfaction.

Team Leadership and Advanced Troubleshooting

- Provide technical, managerial, and administrative direction for the AV/VTC infrastructure team.

- Lead complex troubleshooting and root-cause analysis across backend AV/VTC systems and dependencies.

- Mentor engineers and support personnel on standards, troubleshooting methods, and operational best practices.

- Coordinate with service desk, network, voice, and endpoint teams to resolve cross-functional issues quickly.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • This position is restricted to U.S. citizens only. Applicants must not hold dual citizenship with any other country to be eligible for work under this contract.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain SEC Public Trust

  • Bachelor's degree. In lieu of a degree, additional experience may be required.

  • Minimum of 10 years of related experience as a subject matter expert in backend VTC infrastructures and architecture.

  • Expert experience architecting Polycom systems in enterprise environments.

  • Experience providing technical, managerial, and administrative direction for AV/VTC infrastructure operations.

  • Experience developing processes, procedures, SOPs, and post-production documentation.

Technical Skills:

  • Polycom architecture and enterprise backend AV/VTC design

  • Backend AV/VTC infrastructure operations and lifecycle support

  • Development and maintenance of AV/VTC SOPs and technical procedures

  • Complex AV/VTC troubleshooting, escalation, and root-cause analysis

  • Team leadership for AV/VTC infrastructure operations

  • Polycom Certified (required)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience supporting AV/VTC services in a federal agency or similarly regulated environment.

  • Experience supporting executive-level or high-visibility events with strict reliability requirements.

  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Teams Rooms and Cisco conference room integrations.

  • Experience with ServiceNow ticketing, change control, and ITIL-aligned service management.

  • Experience implementing proactive AV/VTC monitoring, health checks, and capacity planning in enterprise collaboration environments.

  • AVIXA CTS/CTS-D

  • Microsoft Teams Rooms Technical Solutions Professional

  • ITIL 4 Foundation

WORK ENVIRONMENT / OTHER

  • Operational Support: May require participation in on-call or surge support activities depending on operational needs.

  • Location: On-site at SEC HQ, Washington, DC

  • Travel: As required per contract direction.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $92,300.00 - $166,850.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
