Location: Egham

Working Pattern: Remote, with occassional travel to client sites and HO

The Design Engineer plays a key role within the core project team, supporting clients from initial concept through to final delivery. This position is responsible for understanding client requirements, developing system designs, and providing technical leadership across the full project lifecycle.

Working closely with Project Managers, clients, and internal teams, the Design Engineer ensures that solutions are both technically sound and aligned to business needs. The role involves translating concepts into detailed designs and supporting implementation to ensure successful delivery.

As a technical authority, you will collaborate across multiple stakeholders, utilising advanced tools and global resources to deliver high quality audio visual solutions while maintaining strong client relationships.

Role Responsibilities

  • Work directly with clients and Project Managers to develop budgets, timelines and manage expectations

  • Conceptualise system designs and determine system requirements

  • Provide technical expertise to support architecture, installation and planning of audio, video and control solutions

  • Develop Bill of Materials and supporting documentation

  • Produce detailed markups for CAD teams to create construction drawings

  • Generate system descriptions, wiring diagrams, rack layouts and cabling designs

  • Research and recommend appropriate technologies for client solutions

  • Oversee construction drawing packages and coordinate with architects and other trades

  • Support project delivery through build phase and complete as built documentation

  • Maintain strong client relationships and support ongoing account development

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Experience in AV systems design

  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office 365

  • Experience with DSP platforms such as Biamp, QSC or similar

  • Experience with control systems such as Crestron, Extron or AMX

  • Strong understanding of project lifecycle stages including design and construction phases

  • Demonstrable knowledge of installation, integration and construction documentation

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

  • Strong problem solving and technical troubleshooting ability

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Avixa CTS or CTS D certification

  • Experience working across enterprise level AV projects

  • Exposure to emerging AV technologies and industry trends

  • Strong time management skills with ability to meet deadlines

  • Self starter with a high level of attention to detail
