Automotive Tire Technician | Up to $52K | No Weekends

Location: Laytonsville, MD
Schedule: Monday-Friday | 7:00 AM-5:00 PM
Pay Rate: $40,000-$52,000 per Year (Depending on Experience)
Pay Type: Hourly
Pay Schedule: Biweekly

About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Automotive Tire Technician to join a well-established, family-owned NAPA Auto Care Center in Laytonsville, Maryland. This is an excellent opportunity for a technician who specializes in tire mounting, balancing, road force balancing, tire repairs, and TPMS service while working in a busy, high-volume shop.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform tire mounting, tire balancing, road force balancing, tire repairs, and flat repairs on passenger and light commercial vehicles
  • Diagnose tire and wheel vibration concerns using Hunter Road Force balancing equipment or comparable systems
  • Perform industry-approved puncture and flat tire repairs following manufacturer guidelines
  • Mount low-profile, performance, commercial, skid steer, and specialty tires while protecting customer wheels from damage
  • Inspect tires for abnormal wear, tread depth, damage, and overall safety, recommending repair or replacement as needed
  • Install and service TPMS sensors, perform relearns, and verify proper system operation
  • Perform tire rotations, wheel installations, tire pressure adjustments, and torque wheels to manufacturer specifications
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while delivering high-quality workmanship

Qualifications

  • Two or more years of experience as an Automotive Tire Technician or Tire Specialist preferred
  • Extensive experience with tire mounting, tire balancing, road force balancing, tire repairs, and flat repairs
  • Experience using Hunter Road Force balancing equipment or comparable balancing systems highly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of tire wear patterns, vibration diagnosis, TPMS servicing, and proper tire repair procedures
  • Experience servicing commercial tires, skid steer tires, or specialty tire applications is a plus
  • Ability to safely lift and move tires weighing up to 100 pounds
  • Strong attention to detail, quality workmanship, and commitment to safety

Compensation & Benefits

  • Annual compensation of $40,000-$52,000, based on experience
