Job Description

Hendrick Volkswagen of Concord

Location: 7500 Hendrick Auto Plaza NW, Concord, North Carolina 28027

V-Dub experience? ODIS Service certified? We built this role for you.

Hendrick Automotive Group — the nation's largest privately owned dealer group and a back-to-back winner of Automotive News' Best Dealerships to Work For — is hiring two experienced Automotive Technicians for our Volkswagen dealership. If you know the VAG platform, understand how VW and Audi systems think, and take pride in precision diagnostics, this is the shop that values what you bring.

Two openings in our main shop. VW or Audi certification preferred — similar European brand experience considered. Climate-controlled, state-of-the-art facility with top-notch equipment. A professional, high-performing team that takes the craft seriously.

$90,000+ per year

Flat-rate pay based on VW certifications, skill level, and performance. Efficient, experienced techs consistently reach this range and above.

WHY VOLKSWAGEN?

Volkswagen isn't a brand you generalize — it's one you specialize in. The VAG platform's shared architecture across VW, Audi, Porsche, and ŠKODA means the expertise you build here is deep, transferable, and increasingly in demand. ODIS service diagnostics, direct-shift gearboxes, MQB platform systems, and VW's expanding EV lineup (ID.4, ID.Buzz) all reward technicians who invest in mastering the brand. At a Hendrick VW dealership, you'll have the training, tools, and volume to build that mastery — and be paid for it.

BENEFITS:

  • $90,000+ per year — flat-rate pay range $30/hr. plus performance bonuses.
  • 100% paid Volkswagen factory training and ASE certifications.
  • NO COST employee healthcare, prescription, and life insurance.
  • Dental, vision, and supplemental coverage (short- and long-term disability).
  • Tools and toolboxes available.
  • Tools and tuition reimbursement program.
  • 401(k) with company match.
  • Paid time off — up to 4 weeks' vacation, plus holiday and sick pay.
  • Technician onboarding program.
  • Climate-controlled, state-of-the-art facility with top-notch equipment.
  • Employee Assistance Program (no cost).
  • Employee discounts.
  • College Scholarship Program.
  • Comprehensive recognition and rewards programs.
  • Internal career advancement — clear path to Senior Technician and beyond.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Diagnose and repair Volkswagen vehicles using ODIS and advanced OEM diagnostic tools.
  • Perform complex repairs across VW systems — engine, transmission, electrical, ADAS, and powertrain.
  • Conduct thorough inspections, alignments, and maintenance to manufacturer standards.
  • Work with complex automotive electrical systems and troubleshoot issues efficiently.
  • Interpret VW technical schematics, TSBs, and repair manuals accurately.
  • Communicate clearly with service advisors and customers on repair status and recommendations.
  • Maintain accurate repair records and document all services performed.
  • Maintain CSI scores at or above company standards.
  • Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work area.
  • Participate in required VW factory training and stay current on brand updates.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proven dealership technician experience — VW or Audi certification strongly preferred.
  • Volkswagen, Audi, or similar European brand dealership experience highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with ODIS service diagnostic software and VAG platform systems.
  • Strong knowledge of VW electrical systems, ADAS, DSG transmissions, and MQB platform.
  • ASE certification preferred; VW or Audi OEM certification a significant advantage.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; Vocational/Trade certification preferred.
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and automotive diagnostic equipment.
  • Valid Driver's License is required.
  • Ability to work scheduled shifts including rotating Saturdays and holidays.
