Automotive Technician - $30-$60/hr+

Location: Windsor Locks, Connecticut

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM

Pay Rate: $30-$60/hour

Pay Type: Hourly + Production Bonus

Pay Schedule: Weekly

Earning Potential: A Level: $100,000+ annually

Typical Billed Hours: 40+ billed hours per week; current technicians average 50+

Introduction

We are seeking experienced Automotive Technicians at the A Level and high B Level to join a well-established independent repair facility in Windsor Locks, Connecticut. This opportunity offers $30-$60/hour plus production bonuses, weekly pay, paid training, and career development. Technicians work on a wide variety of domestic and import vehicles in a productive, team-oriented aftermarket repair environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose, maintain, and repair domestic and import vehicles.
• Perform advanced mechanical repairs, including timing belts, timing chains, head gasket replacement, and advanced brake repairs.
• Diagnose EVAP, drivability, electrical, and other complex vehicle concerns.
• Interpret wiring diagrams and repair information to accurately diagnose vehicle issues.
• Use diagnostic equipment to identify mechanical and electrical concerns.
• Complete repairs efficiently while maintaining high-quality workmanship.
• Communicate repair findings clearly with the service team.
• Maintain productivity goals while supporting an efficient shop workflow.

Qualifications

• 8-10+ years of automotive repair experience preferred for A-Level candidates; 5+ years preferred for high B-Level candidates.
• Strong automotive diagnostic and mechanical repair skills appropriate to the technician level.
• Experience with timing belts, timing chains, head gasket replacement, advanced brake repairs, and EVAP diagnostics for high B-Level candidates.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams and use Mitchell repair information.
• Independent repair shop and aftermarket experience preferred.
• Experience servicing a variety of makes and models.
• ASE Certifications preferred.

Compensation & Benefits

• A Level Technician: $40-$60/hour based on job-related experience and demonstrated skills.
• High-Level B Technician: $30-$40/hour based on job-related experience and demonstrated skills.
• A Level earning potential: $100,000+ annually.
• Weekly production bonus: 40+ billed hours adds $1.00/hour; 45+ adds $2.00/hour; 50+ adds $3.00/hour; 55+ adds $4.00/hour; 60+ adds $5.00/hour.
