Job Title: Automotive Technician

Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Automotive Technician to join their team. This role is ideal for a young, adaptable individual with a solid technical foundation and a willingness to learn and grow within a dynamic automotive environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, diagnosing, and repairing a wide range of automotive electrical and accessory systems while maintaining high standards of workmanship and professionalism.

Working Hours

• Monday to Friday: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
• Employees are required to report 15 minutes prior to the start of the workday
• Two Saturdays per month: 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM

Key Responsibilities

• Install and configure automotive sound systems
• Install reverse camera and 360-degree camera systems
• Install LED light bars and other auxiliary lighting
• Perform wire repairs and custom wire loom building
• Install switches, relays, and electrical components
• Mount and secure electronic equipment and accessories
• Install upgraded horns, including relay and switch systems
• Install compressor air horn systems
• Conduct radio upgrades, including wiring and configuration
• Install automatic pickup sliding covers
• Install roll bar brake lights
• Install and configure vehicle alarm systems
• Hardwire dash cam kits
• Perform electrical diagnostics and troubleshooting
• Complete additional related tasks as assigned

Billable Work Structure

• Track and record all billable hours accurately
• Billable hours include installation, diagnostics, and other revenue-generating tasks
• Non-billable hours may include preparation, administrative duties, or downtime as determined by management
• Saturdays may be considered billable depending on assigned work

Qualifications & Requirements

• Prior experience in automotive electrical systems or accessory installation is required
• Strong understanding of vehicle wiring, electrical systems, and diagnostics
• Experience with installation of audio systems, alarms, cameras, or similar automotive upgrades is an asset
• Ability to read and interpret basic wiring diagrams
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment
• Good time management and ability to meet productivity targets
• High level of attention to detail and workmanship
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Valid driver’s licence is an asset
