
At NXP Semiconductors, the Automotive Embedded Systems (AAES) Software Quality Assurance Team is dedicated to ensuring that software products, processes, and engineering practices meet the highest standards of quality, safety, security, and compliance throughout the development lifecycle. Operating as an independent organization, we provide objective oversight, governance, and continuous improvement across software projects, Agile Release Trains (ARTs), and product portfolios.
Our mission is to enable teams to deliver reliable, safe, secure, and customer-focused automotive software solutions by embedding quality into every stage of development. We work closely with software engineering, system architecture, testing, safety, security, and program management teams to drive process excellence, ensure compliance with industry standards such as Automotive SPICE, ISO 26262, ISO/SAE 21434, and IATF 16949, and support successful customer and certification assessments.
Your Impact
As a Automotive Software Quality Assurance Engineer, you will drive quality, compliance, and continuous improvement across NXP’s automotive software programs. You will work closely with development teams to define quality strategies, perform independent assessments, monitor project health, and ensure adherence to industry standards and customer expectations.
Through audits, release readiness reviews, metrics analysis, and quality coaching, you will help teams identify risks early, improve process maturity, and deliver safe, secure, and reliable software products with confidence.
Key Responsibilities
Independently assess project compliance, raise and escalate quality concerns, request corrective actions, report non-conformities, and participate in release and milestone readiness reviews.
Quality Assurance Strategy & Governance
Define and execute quality assurance strategies that ensure software products, processes, and work products meet customer expectations, organizational requirements, and industry standards. Drive quality planning activities, establish quality objectives, and provide independent oversight throughout the software development lifecycle.
Compliance, Audits & Assessments
Perform independent process compliance audits, release readiness reviews, and quality assessments. Support internal and external evaluations, including Automotive SPICE, ISO 26262, ISO/SAE 21434, IATF 16949, and customer audits, ensuring compliance and readiness at key project milestones.
Quality Monitoring & Reporting
Monitor project health through quality metrics, KPIs, audits, and compliance indicators. Provide objective reporting, identify trends and risks, and deliver actionable insights that support informed decision-making and continuous quality improvement.
Risk & Non-Conformity Management
Identify, assess, and escalate quality risks, process gaps, and non-conformities. Facilitate corrective and preventive actions, track resolution progress, and ensure issues are addressed effectively to prevent recurrence.
Process Improvement & Quality Coaching
Partner with project teams to promote quality best practices, process adoption, and continuous improvement. Deliver guidance, coaching, and training that enable teams to improve process maturity, efficiency, and product quality.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with software engineers, architects, testers, program managers, safety managers, cybersecurity specialists, and leadership teams to embed quality into every phase of software development and delivery.
Quality Culture & Organizational Excellence
Champion a culture of quality, accountability, and engineering excellence across projects and Agile Release Trains. Contribute to process standardization, quality innovation, and organizational initiatives that enhance overall software quality performance.

Contract: This is a fulltime position with a permanent contract
