Job Description

The Automotive Service Advisor acts as the primary point of contact between customers and the service department, ensuring a seamless experience from vehicle drop-off to pick-up. This role involves assessing vehicle concerns, coordinating repairs with technicians, preparing detailed repair orders, and providing clear and professional communication to customers. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of automotive mechanics, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to efficiently coordinate service operations.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Greet and consult with customers to understand their vehicle concerns and service needs.
  • Prepare and present detailed repair orders, including descriptions of issues, required repairs, estimated costs, and timelines.
  • Coordinate with auto technicians to ensure repairs are completed accurately and efficiently.
  • Clearly explain technical automotive information to customers in easy-to-understand terms.
  • Follow up with customers to ensure satisfaction with services performed and to build long-term relationships.
  • Address and resolve customer complaints professionally and proactively.
  • Schedule service appointments and manage work order flow to optimize efficiency.
  • Order necessary parts and ensure timely availability for repairs.
  • Assist with billing procedures, process payments, and maintain accurate service records.
  • Stay updated with the latest automotive technologies, best practices, and industry trends.
  • Ensure a clean, organized, and customer-friendly service environment.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in an automotive service advisor or similar role preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of automotive mechanics and repair processes.
  • Basic knowledge of automotive parts and supplies.
  • Strong computer literacy, including proficiency with service management software.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information clearly.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities.
  • Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with technicians, service managers, and other team members.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical or business training is a plus.
  • Valid USVI driver’s license and a clean driving record.
