Smith Haven Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram is a family, 5 star run dealership that was started by Donald Saslow in December of 1969. Don had been a Sales Manager for Ebbets Field Dodge when he decided to move his entire family east from Brooklyn to Suffolk County.

Don and his partner Bill Stein opened a new venture called Smith Haven Dodge. It was located on the corner of Lake Avenue and Middle Country Road in St. James New York. Don was a working owner and, despite some early struggles, he chose to remain at Smith Haven and make the most of this opportunity. Based upon Chrysler's commitments and finances, Don was able to move the dealership to a new facility on Middle Country Road in St. James. Eventually, Don bought out his partner, which allowed him to become the sole Dealer Principal. Due to Don's hard work and tireless dedication he was able to truly achieve the "American Dream" and allow his entire family to excel.
