Examples of duties
This role focuses on repairing and maintaining gasoline powered vehicles and equipment that support operations throughout the Susquehannock Forest District. As an Automotive Mechanic, you will perform the following duties:
- Vehicle Repair: Repair gasoline powered cars, trucks, SUVs, ATVs, snowmobiles, forklifts, and trailers
- Emergency Response: Travel throughout the district to investigate breakdowns and perform field repairs
- Maintenance Support: Assist the Diesel Mechanic with repairs and perform routine service tasks
- Record Keeping: Maintain repair records, complete required reports, and keep the shop organized
- Inspection Duties: Perform state inspections and emissions testing on vehicles and equipment

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours will be between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM Monday – Friday. Specifics about work schedules, including the possibility of an alternate work schedule, will be discussed during the interview.

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Four years of experience in the automotive mechanic trade; or
- Completion of an approved apprenticeship; or
- Any combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledges, skills, and abilities.
Special Requirement:
- This position requires possession of a valid Class C Driver's License.
- This position requires possession of a Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Class 1 Inspection Mechanic certificate.
