This position maintains a diverse range of equipment including delivery vehicles, heavy duty machinery, on road tractors, and trailers from a variety of manufacturers. This position troubleshoots and maintains/repairs various systems including hydraulic brakes, air brakes, electronics, and engines. This position performs other tasks as requested.

  • Job Type: Full-Time - Permanent
  • Work Location: 1221 32nd avenue Lachine, Québec
  • Workdays: Monday to Friday.
  • Shift duration: 7:00 PM - 3:30 AM.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Repairs all UPS package cars and equipment.

  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace

  • Use diagnostic tools and software to identify mechanical problems

  • Ensures all vehicles are maintained regularly and in a timely manner

  • Communicate effectively in a team work environment

  • Performs routine PMI (Preventive Maintenance Inspection) and Maintenance repairs.

    Qualifications:

    • French required, proficiency in English is considered an asset.
    • Able to lift up to 70 lbs.
    • Able/willing to work flexible shifts, evening and/or night shifts.
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, and collaborative environment.
    • Possession of a valid PEP card heavy duty or light duty mechanic license.
    • Possession of essential trade tools and equipment.
    • Possession of a clean driver’s abstract/record (must not be obtained more than a month ago before your interview date) showing:
    • No violations for the current year (last 12 months) and no more than 2 violations for the previous 3-year period (last 36 months)
    • No accidents and maximum 5 demerit points for the previous 3-year period (last 36 months)
    • Strong organizational skills.
    • Strong troubleshooting skills.
    • Must pass a pre-employment road test.

    Compensation and Benefits:

    • $42.29 per hour
    • Unionized role with a defined progression with a top rate of $43.49 after completing 12 months (post seniority) of service.
    • Weekly pay (every Friday).
    • Automatic pay progression as per the existing union Collective Agreement.
    • Tool allowance allocation per year.
    • Safety boots allowance allocation per year.
    • Paid vacation:
      • 2 weeks after 1 year of service
      • 3 weeks after 5 years of service
      • 4 weeks after 10 years of service
      • 5 weeks after 20 years of service
      • 6 weeks after 25 years of service
    • Entitled for company provided personal optional days and sick days provided by federal regulations.

    Working Conditions:

    • Mainly indoors (in a warehouse or shop). Occasionally work outdoors.
    • Exposed to hot/cold temperatures when working outdoors.
