Reporting to the Commander of Fleet Operations and under the direction of the Automotive Mechanic 3, and within the regulations as set out by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities, the Automotive Mechanic 3 Apprentice will:

Key Qualifications:

Your application must describe your qualifications as follows:

  1. Possess a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent diploma
  2. Register with the Skilled Trades of Ontario within 60 days of employment
  3. Possess and maintain a valid Province of Ontario Class "G" License and must qualify for the City's equipment operating permits and requirements

You Must Also Have:

  • The ability to successfully complete a written test and interview.
  • Be registered for in-school learning through the Ontario College of Trades
  • Provide copy of 310S Automotive Service Technician Logbook once registered as an apprentice with Ontario Skilled Trades.
  • Must be able to travel to different work locations as assigned.
  • Must be physically capable of performing essential duties of the Automotive Service Technician (310S)
  • Must be physically capable of performing required duties.
  • Must be able to work shift/weekend/overtime/on call duty.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to work in a computerized environment.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions.
