Job Description

An Automotive Aftermarket Pricing Analyst is responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing pricing strategies for aftermarket automotive parts and accessories. The role ensures pricing accuracy, competitiveness, and profitability by analyzing market trends, cost structures, competitor pricing, and product performance.

Key Responsibilities

Pricing Strategy & Execution

  • Develop and maintain pricing models for aftermarket parts across multiple product categories.
  • Recommend price adjustments based on cost changes, market conditions, and competitive landscape.
  • Support promotional pricing, discount strategies, and margin optimization initiatives.
  • Ensure pricing aligns with company goals for revenue, margin, and market share.

Data Analysis & Insights

  • Analyze sales data, elasticity, customer behavior, and product performance to identify pricing opportunities.
  • Monitor competitor pricing using market research tools, distributor data, and online marketplaces.
  • Evaluate the financial impact of pricing changes using scenario modeling and forecasting.

Market & Product Intelligence

  • Track industry trends, supply chain shifts, and regulatory changes affecting aftermarket pricing.
  • Collaborate with product management to understand product lifecycle, new product introductions, and end-of-life strategies.
  • Provide insights on SKU-level profitability and recommend rationalization where needed.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Product teams to align pricing decisions.
  • Support sales teams with custom quotes, pricing exceptions, and customer-specific pricing programs.
  • Partner with supply chain and procurement to understand cost drivers and vendor pricing changes.

Systems & Tools

  • Maintain pricing databases and ERP pricing tables.
  • Use BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, etc.) to build dashboards and reports.
  • Support automation and process improvements for pricing workflows.

Performance Metrics

  • Margin improvement across key product categories.
  • Pricing accuracy and reduction of pricing errors.
  • Competitive positioning relative to market benchmarks.
  • Speed and quality of pricing updates.
  • Impact of pricing strategy on revenue growth.

Qualifications

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Data Analytics, or related field.
  • 2–5 years of experience in pricing, financial analysis, or market analytics (automotive aftermarket preferred).
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel and data visualization tools.
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Epicor, NetSuite) and pricing software.
  • Understanding of automotive aftermarket distribution channels (retail, wholesale, e‑commerce).
  • Ability to interpret complex data and communicate insights clearly.
  • Strong attention to detail and comfort working with large datasets.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with competitive intelligence tools (e.g., PriceSpider, ChannelAdvisor).
  • Knowledge of automotive parts categories (filters, brakes, suspension, performance parts, etc.).
  • Familiarity with MAP (Minimum Advertised Price) policies and e‑commerce pricing dynamics.
  • Background in cost modeling or margin optimization.
