Job Description

Automation Technician - Plastics - Base Salary to 38.00/hour - Lodi, CA

  • Our client, a plastics manufacturing company, is seeking an experienced Automation Technician to join their onsite team in Lodi, CA.
  • The Automation Technician will support the repair, installation, removal, maintenance, and refurbishment of injection molding automation equipment, robotics, packaging equipment, fixtures, and machinery. This role requires hands-on experience troubleshooting robots and automation equipment within a plastic injection molding manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, plumbing, and electrical issues involving packaging equipment, robots, robotic automation, and downstream automation equipment
  • Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on 3-axis robots and related automation components, including motors, valves, cylinders, bearings, and vacuum systems
  • Troubleshoot AC and DC electrical circuits using a multimeter and interpret electrical wiring schematics
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot pneumatic systems, including Venturi vacuum systems, using pneumatic schematics
  • Assist with the installation, removal, maintenance, and refurbishment of manufacturing equipment, fixtures, robotics, and machinery
  • Work with on-shift Managers, Supervisors, and Leads regarding equipment issues and repairs
  • Provide detailed reports on equipment performance to the Automation Supervisor
  • Perform assigned repairs to the building and grounds
  • Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records, order supplies, and maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDS)

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Prior manufacturing experience with a focus on automation and robotics
  • Prior plastic injection molding experience
  • Hands-on experience troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing robots within a plastic injection molding environment
  • Working knowledge of basic 3-axis robotic functions and components, including motors, valves, cylinders, and bearings
  • Experience performing routine robot maintenance and diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing manufacturing machinery and downstream automation equipment
  • Experience troubleshooting AC and DC electrical circuits and using a multimeter
  • Knowledge of pneumatic systems and Venturi vacuum systems
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical wiring and pneumatic schematics
  • Experience safely using hand and power tools
  • Ability to work 7:00 AM-3:30 PM, Thursday through Monday or Friday through Tuesday

Compensation:

  • Base salary in the 28.00 - 38.00/hour range
  • Annual Bonus
  • Benefits (Insurance, PTO, Retirement)
