Kirby Risk Electrical Supply

Kirby Risk is seeking an Automation Team Manager to lead team. In this role, you'll provide leadership and direction to a team of Automation Consultants and Specialists while helping grow our Industrial Controls, Sensor & Safety, and Rockwell Automation business throughout Kirby Risk.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys developing people, building customer relationships, and partnering with sales teams to solve real manufacturing challenges. You'll play a key role in driving growth, supporting customers, and helping our team deliver solutions that improve productivity, reliability, and workplace safety.

What You will Do as an Automation Team Manager

As the Automation Team Manager, you'll be responsible for the overall performance, development, and growth of the automation team within your territory.

You will:

  • Develop and execute annual business plans that align with company goals and growth initiatives.
  • Lead, coach, and develop Automation Consultants and Specialists to support individual and team success.
  • Drive sales growth across Industrial Controls, Sensor & Safety, and Rockwell Automation product lines.
  • Partner with account managers and sales leadership to identify opportunities, support target accounts, and win strategic projects.
  • Meet with customers to understand operational challenges and recommend practical automation solutions.
  • Monitor sales performance, market trends, and business opportunities to identify areas for growth.
  • Lead Rockwell Automation Quarterly Business Reviews and territory planning activities.
  • Build strong relationships with customers, supplier partners, and key stakeholders.
  • Provide technical guidance and support on complex automation opportunities.
  • Foster a culture centered on accountability, teamwork, customer service, and continuous improvement.
  • Support recruiting, onboarding, performance management, and employee development efforts.

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • College degree or 5+ years of relevant industrial automation, sales, or leadership experience
  • Proven leadership and people development experience
  • Strong knowledge of Industrial Controls, Sensor & Safety, and Automation Solutions
  • Experience working with manufacturing, industrial, OEM, or process customers preferred
  • Demonstrated success achieving sales goals and driving business growth
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
  • Strong organizational, planning, and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to analyze data and develop strategies to improve sales performance
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and CRM platforms
  • Goal-oriented, self-motivated, and committed to delivering results
