Job Description

We are establishing a Greenfield manufacturing facility at Tlaxcala in Mexico. This will be the flagship facility in line with Industry 4.0 with state-of-the-art advanced automation and digitization. To deliver this, we are hiring a highly competent and motivated professional who will support the design and implementation of the new facility, as well as act as the local SME for startup, stabilization, and ongoing operations.

Key Job Responsibilities

As anAutomationEngineer,you’reexpected to work closely with CAPEX project team, Engineering maintenance team, Facility team,Vendorsand service providers in supportingCAPEX setup andplant operation by improving andmaintainingautomation system in manufacturing shop floor,automatedwarehouseandbuilding managementsystems.

You’reexpected topossesstechnical knowledge of Allen-Bradley, Siemens, andotherbrandPLCs, as well asexpertisein Ethernet, FT View, SIEMENS TIA, and Ignition portal. Skilledin troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and system modifications to enhance safety and efficiency. Proficient in SAP master data, batch control, MES, and IoT platforms. Demonstrates analytical acumen for decision-making based onaccuratedata and excels as a collaborative team member, fosteringsynergyand trust.

  • Execute Automation Projects

  • Draft user requirement specifications for automation projects

  • Develop software codes for minor process improvement projects

  • Liaise with equipment vendors to ensure compliancetospecifications (e.g.attend kick-off meetings, Factory Acceptance tests, etc.)

  • Direct andmonitorvendor activities duringFAT,siteinstallationand commissioning to ensure system is delivered as per design documents

  • Ensures that the operations and activities carried out arein accordance withthe duties and responsibilitiesforEHS as specified by Company Policy and relevant statutory provisions.

  • MaintainShop floor control system,MESandAutomated Warehouseoperation

  • Work closely with vendor helpdesk for software related issues and proposesolutionif necessary.

  • Prepare troubleshootingreport, conduct training to engineering and operations personnel to prevent futureoccurrence

  • Propose and carry out corrective / preventive maintenance for control systems.

  • Develop comprehensive Obsolescence profiles for hardware and software systems.

  • Perform routine checks tomonitorequipment operating parameters, prompt updating onto monitoring system to ensure operations are within control specifications.

  • Propose and execute modifications to equipment,processes,and operations to improve safety, increaseefficiencyand align with companygoals.

Technical Knowledge Area:

  • Allen-Bradley PLC's, SIMENS PLC,otherbrandPLCs, etc.

  • In depth knowledge of Ethernet and other network based I/O systems preferred.

  • Expertisewith FT View/SIEMENS TIA/Ignition portal is preferred.

  • Knowledge of SAP master data, enhanced master recipe, batch control,MESand IoT platform is preferred.

  • Experience in VMware, SAN storage and network switches is preferred.

  • Experience in Access,VBand SQL is an advantage.

  • Electrical & Instrumentationexpertise

  • Project Management foundational skills

  • Analytical Ability: Decision making based onaccuratedata.

  • Rate thesynergyof working with others. Showsrespect,trust.It isa good team member.

The Successful Applicant

  • Engineeringdegree with5+yearsexperienceinAutomation,Project Managementin highly regulated industries such as Food and Beverages.

  • Should have worked on Greenfield / Brownfield Projects

  • Ability to define the fundamental components of a project in terms of its scope, deliverables, timescales, resourcerequirementsand budget whilst incorporating risk and quality to provide aconsolidated of aproject.
