Responsibilities

The Automation Specialist (Supply Chain) will identify opportunities to improve business processes through AI, automation and digital solutions. Working closely with business stakeholders, the role will analyse operational challenges, design practical solutions and develop applications, dashboards and automations that improve efficiency, visibility and decision making across the organization.

The incumbent will work closely with Supply Chain, Operations, Logistics, and other business stakeholders to identify automation opportunities, develop minimum viable products (MVPs), manage solution deployments, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Partner with business teams to understand operational challenges and identify opportunities for digital improvement.
  • Analyse business processes and translate requirements into practical AI, automation and digital solutions.
  • Design, develop and maintain dashboards, workflow automations and internal business applications.
  • Build prototypes and proof-of-concepts to rapidly validate ideas and deliver business value.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives through process optimisation and data-driven insights.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders throughout solution design, testing, deployment and user adoption.
  • Monitor solution performance, troubleshoot issues and continuously enhance existing applications.
  • Prepare clear documentation and provide user training to ensure successful adoption.
  • Promote best practices in digital solution development, governance and knowledge sharing.
  • Keep up to date with emerging AI and digital technologies, recommending innovative approaches where appropriate.

Profile

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business Analytics or a related discipline

Experience

  • Experience in business process automation and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Experience supporting Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations, or related business functions is preferred.
  • Experience working with SAP systems is advantageous.
  • Proven experience developing solutions using Microsoft Power Platform.

Technical Skills

  • Experience with workflow automation platforms (e.g. Power Automate, n8n, Make or similar).
  • Experience developing dashboards and business intelligence solutions (Power BI or equivalent).
  • Familiarity with AI tools and Large Language Models (e.g. Claude, ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot or similar).
  • Knowledge of Python, SQL, VBA, and API integrations.
  • Experience developing lightweight business applications or web-based solutions is desirable.
  • Understanding of data modelling, automation and system integration principles.
