Automation Operator I – Control room back-up

At a glance:

As an Automation Operator I based in Sydney, you will act as the first responder to system alarms, errors, and operational incidents across advanced automated warehouse systems. This role offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge automation technology while supporting Control Room operations and contributing to a high-performing, safety-focused team.

24/7 Distribution Centre operating on a rotating roster, with day shifts from 6:00am to 6:00pm and night shifts from 6:00pm to 6:00am.

Your Impact:

  • Respond to system alarms, errors, and stoppages to restore operations quickly and minimise downtime

  • Provide backup support to the Control Room, ensuring seamless coordination and communication

  • Manage and escalate incidents through ITSM systems, working closely with operations and remote support teams

  • Support onboarding and mentoring of new team members, fostering a collaborative team environment

  • Promote and uphold workplace health and safety standards in all activities

  • Monitor system performance and contribute to asset reliability and operational efficiency

  • Assist with basic troubleshooting, maintenance support, and continuous improvement initiatives
