Molex is seeking an experienced (Sr.) Automation mechanical engineer who will be responsible for identifying automation opportunities, designing innovative solutions, and coordinating cross-functional teams to implement these solutions. This position will focus on designing, implementing, and maintaining advanced automation solutions to enhance our manufacturing capabilities.
What You Will Do
· Equipment Development & Optimization: Lead the mechanical design, assembly, and fine-tuning of automated equipment; continuously optimize cycle time and process yield.
· Tooling Development: Design high-precision production tools and fixtures to address and resolve process bottlenecks.
· Specifications & Component Evaluation: Define technical specifications for equipment; oversee material selection, off-the-shelf component sourcing, and cost control.
· System Validation & Handover: Conduct equipment validation and establish SOPs and maintenance plans to ensure stable mass production.
· Cross-functional Project Integration: Serve as the technical lead for inter-departmental communication and troubleshooting; manage project timelines for automation initiatives.
Who You Are
· Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automation Control, or a related field; minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in automated equipment development.
· Software Proficiency: Expert knowledge of SolidWorks, NX, or AutoCAD.
· Core Technical Skills: Proficient in transmission mechanisms, pneumatic systems, and motor selection.
· Manufacturing Knowledge: Familiarity with metal and plastic material properties, machining processes, and surface treatments.
What Will Put You Ahead
· Familiarity with NPI workflows and mass production quality validation standards.
· Full professional proficiency in English (Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing).
· Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
· Willingness to travel abroad for assignments (up to 2 months).
