Automation & Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) Support Supervisor

Location On-site, Portsmouth, NH. Relocation assistance is available for eligible candidates and their families.

The Automation & Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) Support Supervisor at the Portsmouth, NH site ensures continuous, high-level support for manufacturing operations by addressing real-time processing delays and managing administrative access/training. This role oversees Automation Support Engineers and combines tactical plant support with strategic measures to prevent future issues and manage deviations. Reporting to the Engineering department, the supervisor is responsible for organizing activities that minimize production downtime and optimize operational performance.

What you will do:

  • Safety & Training Compliance: Maintain personal and team training metrics above 90% across SAP, ComplianceWire, iComply, and QSMRT portals.

  • Issue & Quality Resolution: Lead quality investigations, direct root-cause analyses, execute risk assessments, and approve suite process deviations.

  • Equipment Subject Matter Expertise: Deliver engineering SME support across departments for advanced manufacturing equipment design and operational processes.

  • Lot Release & Documentation: Complete change-request lot assessments and revise SOPs to maximize error prevention and best practices.

  • Team Leadership & Performance: Manage direct reports via regular 1-on-1s, technical guidance, career development, and performance reviews.

  • Operational Shift Management: Oversee automation support staffing, ensure accurate shift handovers, and prioritize daily project workflows.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Represent the group at Controls Engineering DMS meetings and interview candidates for department recruitment.

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor’s in Engineering (preferred) or Related Degree required.

  • 6+ Years of Related Professional Experience.

  • Experience in the design and operation of process automation systems in Biopharmaceutical facilities, both manufacturing and support systems.

  • Practical experience in the management and coordination of cross functional projects/deliverables is required.

  • Traits: Results driven, self-starter, adaptable, effective communicator, analytical, organized.

  • Ability to secure relevant information and key issues from a base of information.
