Responsibilities
As an Automation Integration Engineer (internally titled: Senior Hardware Integration Engineer), you will play a key role in delivering complex warehouse automation solutions by bridging system architecture, equipment integration, supplier execution, and project delivery. You will work across mechanical, controls, software, and operational disciplines to ensure integrated solutions meet client requirements and perform successfully in the field.
- Act as a technical interface with clients, helping translate operational needs into integrated automation solutions.
- Define, review, and approve equipment specifications, interface requirements, and technical deliverables for internal teams and external suppliers.
- Drive technical alignment between Exotec systems, third-party automation equipment, controls systems, and client environments.
- Own and coordinate equipment integration activities throughout the project lifecycle, from design and procurement through testing and deployment.
- Identify and manage technical interfaces, dependencies, risks, and scope boundaries across multiple stakeholders and engineering disciplines.
- Ensure compatibility between integrated equipment, software interactions, controls architecture, operational workflows, and performance requirements.
- Manage external suppliers and equipment partners, challenging technical proposals and ensuring compliance with project requirements.
- Support integration testing, validation activities, acceptance criteria definition, and overall deployment readiness.
- Partner closely with Hardware Integration, Software Integration, Deployment, Project Management, and Product teams to deliver successful client outcomes.
- Provide technical support during deployment, commissioning, troubleshooting, and operational ramp-up activities as required.
- Mentor and support other engineers by sharing best practices related to system integration, technical rigor, supplier management, and problem-solving.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- ~5 years of experience delivering automation, systems integration, warehouse automation, intralogistics, material handling, or industrial engineering projects.
- Demonstrated ability to understand and manage complex systems involving equipment, controls, software interactions, operational workflows, and multiple technical stakeholders.
- Experience defining, reviewing, or owning technical specifications, performance requirements, equipment interfaces, and acceptance criteria.
- Proven ability to manage external suppliers, equipment vendors, or engineering partners throughout design, procurement, testing, deployment, or commissioning phases.
- Comfortable working across engineering disciplines and acting as a technical interface between clients, suppliers, controls engineers, software teams, and project stakeholders.
- Working knowledge of automation systems, machine interfaces, controls architecture, APIs, software interactions, or data exchanges within industrial environments.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to balance technical, operational, budgetary, and scheduling constraints.
