Primary Responsibilities

Test Design & Execution

  • Analyze user stories, acceptance criteria, technical designs, and business requirements to define effective test scenarios.
  • Create, maintain, and execute functional, regression, integration, API, UI, smoke, and exploratory test cases.
  • Ensure traceability between requirements, test cases, test execution, and defects.
  • Participate in backlog refinement, sprint planning, design reviews, and release readiness discussions to identify quality risks early.

Test Automation

  • Develop and maintain automated tests using modern automation frameworks such as Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, KarateDSL, REST-assured, or similar tools.
  • Contribute reusable automation components, utilities, test data patterns, and framework improvements.
  • Increase automation coverage across UI, API, integration, smoke, and regression suites.
  • Improve test reliability by identifying flaky tests, reducing false failures, and optimizing execution time.

CI/CD & Continuous Testing

  • Integrate automated tests into build and deployment pipelines in partnership with engineering and DevOps teams.
  • Support quality gates by ensuring critical automated tests run consistently before release or deployment.
  • Review pipeline results, investigate failures, and communicate quality risks to the team.
  • Contribute to continuous testing practices that support faster feedback and improved delivery predictability.

Defect Management & Quality Metrics

  • Log clear, actionable defects with reproduction steps, evidence, severity, and expected results.
  • Partner with developers and product owners to triage, prioritize, retest, and close defects.
  • Support root cause analysis for escaped defects and recurring quality issues.
  • Track and communicate quality indicators such as pass rates, defect trends, automation coverage, and release risk.

Production Readiness & Reliability

  • Support release validation, deployment verification, smoke testing, and production readiness activities.
  • Participate in incident review or post-release validation when quality gaps are identified.
  • Help improve test coverage based on production findings, customer-impacting issues, and operational risk.
  • Validate reliability, performance, scalability, and resiliency expectations where applicable.

Compliance, Risk & Governance

  • Follow enterprise quality engineering standards, security requirements, and regulatory expectations.
  • Maintain accurate testing artifacts and evidence to support audit readiness and control expectations.
  • Validate data integrity, access controls, and workflow behavior where required by product or compliance needs.
  • Escalate risks, blockers, test environment issues, and quality concerns in a timely manner.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

  • Work closely with developers, product owners, architects, BAs, DevOps, and QE peers to embed quality throughout the SDLC.
  • Contribute ideas to improve testing efficiency, team practices, automation maturity, and engineering productivity.
  • Adopt modern quality engineering practices, including shift-left testing, automation-first delivery, and AI-assisted test productivity where appropriate.
  • Share knowledge with team members through peer reviews, demos, documentation, and test walkthroughs.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in software quality engineering, test automation, or SDET-focused roles.
  • Hands-on experience designing and executing test cases for web, API, integration, and enterprise application workflows.
  • Experience with Quality Engineer- .NET backend - Playwright automation.
  • Experience with defect and test management tools such as Jira, VersionOne, TestRail, PractiTest, or similar platforms.
  • Understanding of Agile delivery practices, CI/CD concepts, and modern DevOps quality practices.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Experience in fostering early tech adoptions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience testing microservices, distributed systems, event-driven workflows, or payment/onboarding platforms.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Experience with performance, load, or resiliency testing tools and practices.
  • Experience in financial services, payments, banking, healthcare, or other regulated technology environments.
  • Exposure to accessibility testing, security testing concepts, test data management, or service virtualization.

Exposure to AI-assisted testing, automated test generation, or productivity tooling for QE teams
