WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

As part of our Global Technology Digitalization & Automation unit, you join an international team that drives digitalization and automation initiatives across the global Coatings business. Together, we develop global standards and technologies that enable innovation and operational excellence in our laboratories worldwide.

• In this role, you implement and continuously improve automation solutions across the full system lifecycle – from system integration and development through to operation and optimization.
• You develop and maintain software components, including frontend, backend, and interfaces, and integrate measurement devices, robots as well as PLC-controlled systems into digital workflows.
• Furthermore, you contribute to the evolution of automation towards data-driven and intelligent solutions by evaluating, conceptualizing and implementing Computer Vision, Machine Learning and AI use cases to enhance automation capabilities.
• Additionally, you independently drive automation projects, manage stakeholders, and coordinate with global teams to ensure effective communication and alignment across regions and functions.
• You manage requirements for new automation systems and coordinate implementation activities with internal and external stakeholders.
• Finally, you commission automation systems and support system rollouts at local and global sites.

WHAT YOU OFFER

• master's degree in automation engineering, mechatronics or a closely related field
• practical experience in industrial automation, software development, and system integration
• solid knowledge in several of the following areas: C++ development, PLC, motion control, industrial robot programming, Python development, Computer Vision, database systems (e.g. PostgreSQL), REST APIs (e.g. curl, Bruno), Machine Learning, and AI
• very good language skills in German and English
• confident in using standard Microsoft Office applications
