Job Description

Our Tissue Machine Controls & Automation department is now looking for an engaged and motivated Chief Engineer. In the Controls & Automation department, we design, develop, and commission automation systems as part of our tissue machine deliveries. These deliveries range from completely new tissue production facilities to major rebuilds and smaller service assignments both locally and worldwide.


About the Role

As Chief Engineer, you’ll drive automation delivery in global projects, from planning and coordination to implementation and continuous improvement. You’ll lead multidisciplinary teams and work closely with customers, project management, and experts across hydraulics, pneumatics, programming, and more. You will play an active role in project-related development work and are expected to continuously improve working methods within your area of responsibility.

The position is located in Pune. International travel is part of the role, offering opportunities for hands-on impact and global collaboration.

Desirable skills and experience

  • Experience with Valmet DNA or equivalent DCS/PLC platforms.

  • Experience with HMI and SCADA systems.

  • Knowledge of machine safety standards and risk assessment methodologies.

  • Experience with industrial communication protocols such as Profinet, EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP, or OPC UA.

  • Exposure to drive systems and motion control applications.

  • Previous customer-facing experience.

  • Experience supporting commissioning and startup activities at customer sites.

  • Strong industrial automation and electrical engineering expertise.

  • Proven experience from multidiscipline (el, hydraulics, pneumatics, software) automation activities in customer projects.

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate in global, cross-functional teams

Required:

  • Electrical system design and documentation

  • Industrial communication networks

  • Control systems integration

  • Engineering documentation tools

Preferred:

  • AutoCAD Electrical

  • CMSE certification

  • Functional Safety knowledge

Basic requirements of the position

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent.

  • Effective written and oral communication skills in English.
