As an Automation Engineer, you will serve as the strategic and technical bridge between industrial plant operations, automation infrastructure, and digital security. Operating within the Operations Support Team, your mission is to modernize legacy control systems, drive the IT/OT technology roadmap, and support our industrial operations to comply with emerging European cybersecurity standards (NIS2). You will take technical ownership of system revamp initiatives across our Rozenburg and Pernis sites, while collaborating with local engineering teams and supporting long-term strategy across other sites in the Benelux.
While the role is focused on the IT/OT landscape, you will also have the opportunity to provide support with small process control changes based on your interest and development goals.
Key Responsibilities
The engineer will focus on these critical strategic pillars:
Develop and coordinate the deployment of an IT/OT roadmap.
Drive the revamping of obsolete control systems and legacy OT hardware.
Support the NIS2/Cbw compliance trajectory for all ALBI Benelux sites.
Core Responsibilities
Act as the primary point of contact and support for all IT/OT changes within the organization.
Manage the lifecycle of OT assets, focusing on the identification and replacement of obsolete components.
Participate in FAT/SAT for new OT infrastructure and software integrations.
Implementation of cybersecurity measures (MFA, network segregation, logging) across DCS/PLC environments.
Coordinate with cluster teams for global cybersecurity policy alignment.
Assist with small process control logic adjustments and HMI configuration as needed by the site.

Fluent in Dutch and English
Experience with DCS/PLC environments (e.g., Yokogawa, Foxboro, Siemens).
Knowledge of asset management and lifecycle planning for industrial hardware.
Digital Resilience Mindset: Passionate about cybersecurity and the protection of critical infrastructure.
Collaborative Communicator: Able to translate complex technical IT/OT requirements to operational stakeholders.
Understanding of NIS2, Cbw, and IEC-62443 frameworks or willing to learn it.
Proficiency in OT networking, firewalls, and secure system architectures.
