The Automation Engineer support will be focus on receive the new equipment for the integration of NPI projects and being able to define optimal operating parameters and train to release a process in control

Working with the NPI process engineer side by side dedicated to the line, ensure the quick response to attend the issues related with design, machines, tooling and functionality.

What you Will do

• Collaborate with the design and operations teams to ensure that the voice of the process is represented in new and enhanced designs and improved designs

• Participate in development of controls standards and specifications by feeding back lessons-learned and gaps from each project to ensure that future projects will run smoother.

• Troubleshoot any controls related downtime events on the production lines as a priority.

• Applies engineering principles to the analysis and solution of technical problems related to the design and fabrication of high volume, low volume, and high mix electronic and electromechanical full automated machine related to High Performance Cables. (HPC)

• Maintain, modify, and properly version control equipment programs, configuration files, and documentation as changes are implemented. This includes but is not limited to hardware, electrical, safety, pneumatic, network, PLC, HMI, Robot.

• Troubleshoot, improve, and add features to PLCs using Ladder Logic and/or Structured Text with an emphasis on code that is organized, structured, documented, maintainable and reusable.

• Ensure proper implementation of and modifications to (ANSI/RIA15.06/OSHA compliant) control reliable safety systems for safeguarding robots, gantries, conveyors, and other high volume manufacturing equipment.

• Train Production and Maintenance teams in proper use of the equipment and troubleshooting from the HMI.

YOU MUST HAVE:

• Experience in the Cables and harnesses industry, Full automated manufacturing machines preferred.

• Engineering related (Electronic Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering).

• Experience in Visual Studio, Lab View, Arduino, Ladder Programming applied to test set design

• Working knowledge in PC selection, installation, configuration, and maintenance.

• Able to make networking.

• Current knowledge of automation technologies Excellent analog and digital hardware design skills

• Advanced proficiency programming industrial equipment using various IEC 61131-3 languages.

• Experience writing standard and safety PLC projects from scratch for high-volume manufacturing equipment using Rockwell, Siemens

• Experience creating HMI projects from scratch for high-volume manufacturing equipment using FactoryTalk View, WinCC, Ignition, Wonderware, TwinCAT HMI, or similar.

• Experience setting up, programming, and troubleshooting industrial 6-axis robots such as Fanuc, ABB, Kawasaki, etc. Yaskawa is preferred.

• Experience designing topologies for and troubleshooting common fieldbus networks such as Ethernet/IP, EtherCAT, or Profinet.

• Experience programming and interfacing PLCs with industrial 6-axis robots such as Yaskawa.

• Review and approve electrical schematics for automation equipment using 480/240/120VAC and 24VDC circuits.

• Experience programming HMIs for fully and semi-automated equipment using FactoryTalk View, WinCC, Ignition, TwinCAT HMI, or similar
