In this role you will be part of a team that builds something that matters, grow with a high-performing team, and leave a legacy in Australian Defence manufacturing. We are looking for someone who will be hands-on in the production process and embrace our company's behaviours.

Why this is exciting

  • This is a rare opportunity to work on Boeing's first final assembly facility outside North America and help build a state-of-the-art site that will deliver Australia's first military-designed combat aircraft in more than 50 years and redefine how advanced aircraft are made.
  • Work on an advanced, high‑visibility defence program (MQ‑28) that blends autonomy, aerospace systems and new production approaches.
  • Shape the future of Australian aerospace manufacturing — your work will support national defence capabilities and the growth of local industry.

What you'll get to do:

  • Create documentation, training & best practice material for automated systems;
  • Influence production system design by giving technical recommendations to the equipment and processes being installed;
  • Develop expertise on the asset operations so they meet composite fabrication requirements;
  • Evaluate emerging technologies for potential application to business needs;
  • Provide technical guidance, ensuring personnel operate within technical guidelines;
  • Ensure compliance to safety, regulatory and engineering requirements; and
  • Willing to be hands-on with production equipment to support process development and troubleshooting

Who we're looking for:

  • Must hold Tertiary Qualifications in Engineering; specialising in Mechatronics/Mechanical will be highly regarded.
  • 1+ years of previous experience in automation and/or mechanical systems.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement principles and practices is highly desirable.
  • Effective communication skills with different stakeholders across the business.
  • Works well with others and encourages team building.
  • Assertive, self-motivated and capable of working with a high degree of initiative.
  • Must be based at Wellcamp with willingness to travel to suppliers and Boeing sites across Australia

Security requirement:

  • Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet Defence security requirements.

Location:

  • Wellcamp, Toowoomba
