Essential Functions

• Assists engineers with the development and implementation of automation systems or components.
• Programs, installs, tests, and maintains robots or automated components.
• Assists in the commissioning and deployment of new automation installations, conducts field trials to ensure appropriate operation, and prepares reports or records documenting actions or findings.
• Investigate and troubleshoots defects or bugs, complete repairs and provides preventative maintenance.

Additional Responsibilities

Trouble shooting using Studio 5000. Exposure to Fanuc Robotics and Yaskawa Motoman robotics experience a plus. Exposure to Allen Bradley, Siemens and Unitronics PLC’s a plus. Repairing, installing, and diagnosing sensors/alarms in a production setting. Serve as the first level technical response to errors, mechanical, and electrical issues on the process line.

Required Qualifications

• Required education and experience: Vocational/Technical Training Degree and 2-5 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Preferred education and experience: Associate's Degree
• Discipline/Major: Technical Training Preferred
• Knowledge, skills & abilities: Oral and written communication skills. Ability to meet deadlines. Detail oriented. Problem-solving skills. Mathematic skills. Computer skills. Technical skills. Leadership skills.

Physical Requirements

• Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
• Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds.
• May need to stand for long periods of time.
• Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.
• May be requested to work a different shift.

Travel Requirements

No or very little travel likely.
