
Burrow Global Automation is seeking two experienced Automation Boardman to join a TAR (Turn-Around) project team supporting Yokogawa DCS and SIS environments. The ideal candidate will bring extensive field experience with Yokogawa systems, strong commissioning/loop-checking capabilities, valve stroking, and a proven track record delivering TAR projects on time and safely. This role requires on-site fieldwork in Beatrice, NE, and active collaboration with control engineers, operations, and maintenance teams. Project Dates: July 13 – August 21 (12-hour shift / Day and Night shift available)
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform field-level commissioning activities for Yokogawa DCS/SIS systems as part of a TAR project.
- Execute loop checking, functional testing, and go/no-go validation of control loops and safety instrumented systems.
- Conduct valve stroking and functional verification of actuated devices to validate process control performance.
- Interface with instrument technicians, control room operators, and engineering teams to resolve issues and ensure readiness for startup.
- Calibrate, troubleshoot, and verify sensor and actuator signals, I/O points, and interlock logic within the DCS/SIS environment.
- Support pre-commissioning, commissioning, and post-TAR testing activities; document test results, deviations, and corrective actions.
- Adhere to safety, quality, and regulatory requirements; participate in risk assessments and permit-to-work processes.
- Maintain accurate as-built documentation, test records, and turnover packages for handover to operations.
- Provide on-site technical guidance and mentorship to junior technicians when required.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 10+ years of experience as an Automation Boardman working on TAR projects.
- Strong hands-on experience with Yokogawa DCS and Yokogawa SIS environments (oil/gas, refining, or chemical processing industries preferred).
- Proven track record performing loop checking, valve stroking, and functional testing on complex control systems.
- Familiarity with TAR project lifecycle, commissioning, and turnover processes.
- Bachelor's degree in Automation, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Process Control, or a related field preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under extended TAR schedules and 12-hour shifts.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills; ability to clearly document tests and deviations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Beatrice, Nebraska or similar midwestern industrial settings.
- Knowledge of safety instrumented systems design, SIL references, and safety requirements.
- Certifications related to control systems commissioning or process safety (e.g., ISA, Yokogawa specific training) are a plus.
Work Environment and Schedule:
- On-site field work in Beatrice, NE.
- 12-hour work shifts during TAR window; ability to sustain long hours and adapt to project needs. One candidate will be needed for the day shift and one will be needed for the night shift.
- High emphasis on safety, accuracy, and timely delivery of test results.
