The Automation and PLC Senior Engineer is responsible for the development, programming, optimization, and maintenance of automation systems on production lines. The role involves independently creating new industrial robot programs and modifying existing applications to ensure safety, quality, and maximum production process efficiency, actively participates in the analysis of equipment failures, production downtime, and quality issues, implementing corrective actions and continuous improvements in the areas of robotics, PLC controllers, and vision systems.

Should you be interested in overseeing these tasks and aiming for enhanced performance standards, your role will involve

  • Programming industrial robots such as Staubli, ABB, Fanuc, Mitsubishi, Omron, and Siemens PLC controllers

  • Developing new robotic applications and programs from scratch.

  • Modifying and optimizing existing robot programs to improve performance and reliability.

  • Analyzing and troubleshooting issues causing production line downtime.

  • Participating in cross-functional teams to resolve production issues using Root Cause Analysis (RCA) methodologies.

  • Implementing corrective and preventive actions related to automation systems.

  • Optimizing robot cycle times to improve production line efficiency.

  • Programming and configuring vision systems, including Cognex In-Sight Explorer, In-Sight Vision Suite, EtherInspect, Keyence, and similar platforms.

  • Collaborating on the implementation of new machinery, production lines, and manufacturing processes.

  • Providing technical support to Maintenance and Production teams.

  • Creating and updating technical documentation.

  • Supporting the launch of new products and production processes.

If you have/are:

  • Advanced knowledge of programming industrial robots, including Staubli, ABB, and Fanuc

  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for robotic systems and automation equipment.

  • Experience with Siemens S7-300 and S7-1500 PLCs

  • Proficiency in programming and configuration using Siemens TIA Portal

  • Very good knowledge of Cognex vision systems and machine vision applications.

  • Understanding of industrial communication networks, including PROFINET and EtherNet/IP

  • Knowledge of machine safety standards and safe automation practices.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial automation.

  • Proven experience in programming industrial robots.

  • Experience working in an Automotive manufacturing environment.

  • Hands-on experience in commissioning, startup, and optimization of production lines.

  • Experience in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and eliminating automation system failures to ensure operational efficiency and equipment reliability.

  • Communicative English proficiency (minimum B1/B2 level)

  • Willingness to travel occasionally for business purposes.

  • Ability to work effectively in a production environment with high quality and safety standards, while managing priorities and performing under time pressure.
