Job Description

Your contribution to something big:

  • The Automation & AI Lead drives complex automation and intelligent process solutions, acting as a strategic advisor for the digital transformation of HR. This role leads the design and implementation of advanced AI/ML technologies and robotic process automation, builds strategic roadmaps, pilots emerging technologies, and leads a technical team of automation specialists to ensure HR systems are scalable and future-ready.

Scope & Complexity

  • Operates across highly complex, multi-country HR IT environments with significant strategic and operational impact.
  • Acts as the senior functional authority and trusted advisor on automation, Generative AI, and intelligent workflows.
  • Holds leadership responsibility for managing, mentoring, and developing a team of Automation Specialists and Developers.
  • Has full responsibility for defining solution architecture, evaluating emerging technologies, and managing the end-to-end project lifecycle.
  • Interfaces with senior stakeholders to translate ambiguous or conflicting business needs into clear, actionable technical roadmaps.
  • Balances innovation, performance, cost-efficiency, and risk mitigation when integrating advanced AI capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage, mentor, and guide a team of Automation Specialists, handling resource planning, task allocation, and performance development.
  • Lead the design and implementation of complex automation solutions, integrating advanced AI/ML technologies where applicable.
  • Act as a strategic advisor, analyzing business needs, building consensus, and translating them into scalable technical solutions.
  • Facilitate workshops and collaborate with international teams to identify automation opportunities and build strategic roadmaps.
  • Evaluate and pilot emerging technologies (e.g., Generative AI, LLMs, voice-enabled assistants) to future-proof the HR IT ecosystem.
  • Coordinate between Business Analysts, Developers, external partners, and your internal team, ensuring smooth collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Identify potential AI risks and pitfalls, and proactively implement mitigation strategies ensuring responsible and reliable AI usage.

Qualifications

What distinguishes you:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related technical field.
  • Strong experience in business process design, solution architecture, and leading complex automation/AI projects.
  • Proven track record in people management, team leadership, and developing high-performing technical teams.
  • Expertise with leading automation platforms (e.g., UiPath, Automation Anywhere) and strong foundation in AI concepts, Large Language Models (LLMs), and Python.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management, communication, and strategic thinking capabilities.
  • Analytical, structured, and proactive mindset with the ability to influence decision-making at executive levels.
  • Fluent English (written and spoken, C1 level); German is an asset.
