Job Description

FIC America Corp. is a global Tier 1 automotive components manufacturer centrally located in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago. We are actively seeking an automatic press operator for the Stamping Department. Set up, operate, or tend automatic press machine used to shape metal material to meet product specifications.

Essential Job Functions

  • Set up and operate, transfer or blanking presses
  • Start machines, monitor their operations, and record operational data
  • Visually measure and inspect completed parts to specifications
  • Test and adjust machine speeds or actions, according to standard operating procedures
  • Report defects and operating difficulties to supervisor
  • Perform basic trouble shooting, problem solving, and make minor adjustments
  • Clean automatic press machines
  • Complete paperwork on inspections and operations
  • Follow standard work instructions
  • Perform other duties assigned


Requirements

  • Basic mechanical aptitude (previous experience/comfortable working with tools or machinery) Hands on mechanical experience, automotive repair, minor machine repair, and be able to handle turn a wrench
  • Strong attention to detail, can recognize abnormalities – noise, jams, defects
  • Work independently, ability to stay focused, willingness to learn and take direction
  • Ability to understand and follow safety procedures, LOTO, PPE, etc.
  • Must be able to speak and read basic English to comply with position, Safety, Plant & PPE procedures & requirements
  • Must be willing to cross-train
  • Must be able to work company’s required overtime, including potential Saturday’s
  • Must comply with Attendance and Punctuality Policy

Other Job Functions

  • Comply with FIC’s Safety policies and procedures
  • Comply with IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 procedures and standards
  • Perform 5-S activities

Pay Range $18/hour - $22/hour, based on qualifications and experience

Additional Compensation: We operate two shifts and 2nd Shift employees are given a $1/hour shift differential
