Job Purpose and Summary:

Automated Dispensing Unit (ADU)Pharmacy Technicians take important steps to ensure all medication needs and regulatory compliance standards are met for ourpatients,and theydemonstrateethical conduct and alwaysmaintainpatient confidentiality. Success for incumbents in this role includes being able to manage all assigned pharmacy workstations and tasks to support the team’s ability to fill patient prescriptions promptly,safelyand accurately. Also,helpsfacilitatelocal client relationships by being the liaison between our clients and the pharmacy. Providing ongoing client support to helpidentifyopportunities to drive customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities include the replenishment, audit, and support forADUcabinets installed at our customer’s facilitiesCustomer service/liaison representativeThis includes driving to and from the facilities in company owned vehicles and ensuring regulatory compliance inside and outside of the pharmacy

ADUSupport

  • Responsible for ADU operation, appearance/cleanliness, quick reference guide replacement

  • Restocking / destocking ADUs with medicationlocatedat Omnicare serviced facilities

  • Completing monthly medication audits of ADUs (inspect and verify med qty,expiration, damage,etc)

  • ADU software and userdatabase maintenance

  • ReviewADUreports for discrepancies, errors, and dispensing data

  • Train facility staff training as needed on ADU operation

  • Support coordination of New ADUinstallation;pharmacy and facility readiness including initial ADU inventory, user set-up, etc.

  • Responsible for troubleshooting ADU issues with the facility and pharmacy

  • Review and complete ADU policies,trainingand SOPs yearly

  • Log deliveries and returnaccompanyingdocuments asappropriate

  • Keepfacility ADUsoperating atoptimallevels by providing product and monitoring inventory

  • Maintain and full compliance with all Federal, State and Local laws and regulations

  • Maintain highest professional and ethical standards

  • Responsible for alerting management for maintenance issues.

  • Maintain safe operation ofOmnicare ownedvehicles

  • Use of mobile phones and applications to navigate your route using basic internet applications and GPS functions per

designated route sequence

  • Review and complete Driver Safety policies,trainingand SOPs yearly

Minimum (Required) Qualifications

  • Verifiable High School Diploma or GED isrequired

  • Certification/licensed/registered pharmacy technician or as required by state law

  • The ability to concentrate on a task over a period without being distracted

  • Use and understand verbal and written communication to interact with customers and colleagues

  • Actively listening by giving full attention to what others are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions asappropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times

  • The ability to use math to solve a problem, such as calculating day’s supply of a prescription

  • Is able tojudge when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong; recognizing there is a problem

  • Choosing the best course of action when faced with a complex situation with several available options

  • Customer service orientation

  • Possess geographical knowledge of service area

  • Current, valid driver’s license in the state at the levelrequiredfor the vehicle’s operation

  • Ability to drive forlong periodsof time

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in the long-term care industry

  • Previousexperience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting

  • Previousexperience as a Pharmacy Technician

  • PTCB National Certification

Physical Demands:

  • May sit, stand, stoop,bendand walk intermittently during the day. May sit or stand seven (7) to ten (10) hours per day. May be necessary to work extended hours as needed. Finger dexterity tooperateoffice equipmentrequired May need tolift upto twenty-five (25) pounds on occasion. Visual acuity to see and read fine prints. Specific vision abilities required by this role include close vision, colorvisionand the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to hear normal voice sounds. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this role.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$17.00 - $25.65

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.
