Job Summary
We are seeking an Autodesk Inventor Specialist / 3D Modeler with expertise in parametric Sheet Metal design for architectural and industrial applications. The role focuses on developing design table or Excel-driven models, generating fabrication-ready flat patterns, and creating standardized, BIM-compatible model libraries to support all projects.
The position plays a key role in coordinating with CNC programmers, design, breakdown, and manufacturing teams, ensuring accurate, efficient, and production-ready models while maintaining CAD standards and best practices. The ideal candidate drives process improvement, enhances workflow efficiency, and ensures consistency across all model deliverables. This position is a new addition to our team!
Responsibilities:
• Support the CNC programming team by creating work orders and accurate flat patterns from parametric models for different sizes.
• Provide CSV production files to support CNC programmers in manufacturing workflows as needed.
• Create, modify, and maintain sheet metal 3D models using Autodesk Inventor.
• Develop design table or Excel-driven models for parametric control of part dimensions and variations.
• Maintain and expand standardized model libraries that support BIM workflows and ensure all specifications are applied.
• Communicate and collaborate with design, breakdown, manufacturing teams and QC team to clarify requirements, troubleshoot issues, and ensure smooth workflow from design through production.
• Assist in the development and documentation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for modeling, drawing, and design workflows.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to enhance design efficiency, accuracy, and standardization.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering.
Minimum 2 years of sheet metal 3D modeling experience using Autodesk Inventor required.
Skills & Competencies:
• Detail oriented with the ability to read architectural, mechanical, structural and slab edge drawings.
• Proficiency in Sheet Metal design using Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, and MS Office.
• Experience in creating shop drawings and fabrication packages.
• Knowledge of Autodesk Revit and iLogic is an asset.
• Experience with CNC software such as Stream Bend, Stream Punch, CNC Kad is an asset.
• Proficiency in Excel formulas and functions is required.
Compensation: $60,000 - $80,000 per annum
