AutoCAD Drafting Technician

Our Gas Advanced Design team is comprised of professional engineers and engineering support staff who impact the performance, safety, and reliability of our gas pipeline infrastructure through engineering design efforts and related projects. We are hiring an AutoCAD Drafting Technician with expertise in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Plant 3D to provide engineering drawing and design support for critical gas pipeline infrastructure projects.

What Will You be Doing?

  • Providing engineering support utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D software for utility design projects
  • Preparing drawings of topographic maps, existing utility facilities, and proposed utility structures
  • Ensuring conformance with established engineering practices, design criteria, construction methods, material standards, and safety codes
  • Preparing and/or analyzing boundary survey maps and topographic maps using plan and profile survey data, FIMS (GIS) data, and historical records
  • Preparing material lists and evaluating the appropriate application of materials on assigned projects
  • Preparing drawings of plans, charts, maps, and schematics of utility facilities and structures
  • Researching data and performing calculations for the design of high-pressure natural gas pipelines, pressure regulation stations, and measurement facilities

Who You Are:

  • Drafting and design experience using AutoCAD, preferably Civil 3D and/or Plant 3D
  • Associate's Degree in an engineering or technical discipline is valued
  • Familiarity with natural gas pipeline design standards and code requirements is valued
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel)
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate, establish and build relationships, and strong attention to detail

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally (1/3 of the time), and/or a negligible amount of force frequently (1/3 to 2/3 of the time) to lift, carry, push, or pull objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs are sedentary only if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other criteria are met.
  • Positions in this class typically require talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions within an office working environment.
