As part of the Auto Risk team, you will be responsible for analysis and oversight of originations and portfolio performance, developing and maintaining process standards and performing analysis to understand the drivers of credit performance with the objective of reducing losses, balancing risk reward tradeoff and influencing credit strategy decisions. Also requiring an understanding of competitive, market and strategic forces

You will be required to analyze and interpret data and its impact in both operational and financial areas of the business and wider industry. Participate in complex analytic projects, which could include developing a business case and credit view in Auto to support the Chief Risk Officer (and other senior leaders across CCB products) with a proactive viewpoint on consumer credit trends specific to Chase Auto Finance. You will be required to interact frequently with cross-functional partners and make presentation to managers and executives. The successful candidate will excel at creative thinking and problem solving skills, be self-motivated, confident and ready to take on complex initiatives independently. You will also be expected to demonstrate thorough understanding of the business and ensure robust controls environment

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the creation, design, analysis and execution specific projects/analytics for assigned functional area
  • Build out automated controls to monitor and understand credit profile and performance changes
  • Support the economic readiness playbook inclusive of early warning monitoring tool development
  • Possess high degree of judgment and independent decision making for complex issues and problem solving
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to understand and address key business challenges
  • Work independently to successfully complete end to end process related to analytical tasks starting with problem identification, defining objectives, data discovery, synthesis and analysis of large & complex data points, formulating concise conclusions with actionable recommendations, and creating presentations to pitch findings and/or strategies
  • Provide clear/concise oral and written communication across various functions and levels, inclusive of Operations, IT, and Risk Management
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to a group(s) of analytic professionals. Able to effectively develop team members and demonstrate effective people management and leadership skills

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • MS / Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline; Math, Finance, Statistics, Economics or equivalent work/training is required
  • Minimum 8 years of related analytical experience / at least 5-6 years of direct people management experience
  • Proven record in problem solving and business innovation, agile and proactive in approach
  • Ability to manage and prioritize projects across cross-functional groups
  • Required experience in multiple analytic disciplines and a deep understanding of the business to identify cause/effect relationships
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with ability to interact with individuals across departments / functions
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of financial services
  • In depth knowledge of risk management policies, control processes, metrics, and strategy
  • Strong understanding of SAS programming , Unix, Secure Shell and SQL programming skills
  • Advanced PC Skills, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel (graphs, charts, formulas etc.)

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Advanced degree in quantitative discipline is preferred
  • Experience within Auto Lending or Consumer Lending Business is a plus
