Auto Mechanic

Inframark is hiring an Auto Mechanic to join our Fleet Maintenance team in Hinesville. This position is responsible for vehicle maintenance and repair, completing work orders, providing emergency roadside service, and welding and burning.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform diagnostics and necessary repairs on vehicles and equipment, including engines, transmissions, differentials, brake systems, and HVAC systems.

• Conduct preventive maintenance such as oil changes, spark plug and brake pad replacements, and tire rotations.

• Respond to emergency roadside assistance calls for disabled vehicles.

• Install, inspect, and repair electrical components.

• Fabricate and replace hydraulic hoses; perform welding and burning tasks.

• Repair damaged metal parts using welding equipment; grind or chip off excess weld or slag.

• Test-drive vehicles to diagnose issues and confirm proper functioning after repairs.

• Document maintenance and repairs, time taken, and parts used on work orders.

• Maintain a clean and organized work area and perform upkeep on shop equipment.

Qualifications:

Requires five years of related experience. High School Diploma or GED and at least one year of vocational training in automotive mechanics or a related field. A valid state commercial driver’s license is required, with the ability to meet minimum driving standards.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Basic financial accountability for tools, materials, and supplies.

• Mathematical skills including basic arithmetic and percentage calculations.

• Responsibility for decisions that affect coworkers and customers.

• Judgment in tool and equipment use and maintenance decisions.

• Data collection and interpretation skills.

• Ability to read technical manuals and charts, complete forms, and communicate clearly.

• Strong problem-solving abilities within established systems.

Working Conditions:

Exposure to extreme temperatures, wet or humid environments, bright/dim lighting, dust, pollen, loud noise, vibration, fumes, and odors. Compliance with safety standards is required to mitigate risks from mechanical parts, electricity, heights, pathogens, wildlife, and chemicals.

Physical Requirements:

Frequent standing, kneeling, bending, and climbing. Must be able to lift over 50 pounds and regularly exert over 100 pounds of force. Requires use of hands for equipment operation and tool handling. Must work flexible hours including overtime. Normal vision, hearing, and depth perception are required.
