The Opportunity

The Ally Auto Finance Analyst II will be responsible for financial and analytical support of the Ally Auto business. The candidate will collaborate with senior members of the business to understand the changing dynamics within the business and industry, while providing analytical and financial business support and reporting. Specifically, the candidate will also work closely with the Consumer and Commercial Sales and SmartAuction teams to forecast and report volume, revenue and expense results across the various teams. Primary responsibilities include financial reporting, planning, and forecasting, and preparation of materials for senior management.

This role will support cross-functional business routines centered on business performance and initiative updates. The role will also support month-end close activities including variance analysis and Flash reporting for Auto Operating Expense. Success in this role requires an understanding of business operations and objectives, strategic thinking, collaboration, and agility. The Analyst must possess a mindset geared towards continuous improvement and be capable of managing multiple projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.


The Work Itself

  • Drive monthly reporting routines which clearly articulate key expense drivers, emerging trends, and analysis allowing the business to assess progress towards budgetary goals
  • Prepare Ally Auto business deliverables and meeting materials for executive updates and reporting (weekly, monthly, quarterly)
  • Support the Auto leadership team in day-to-day financial analysis, and execution of strategic initiatives
  • Maintain robust reporting and documentation supporting the publication of financial results and forecasting routines including, but not limited to, key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Build reports, perform ad hoc analyses and special projects as assigned
  • Assist with cost savings initiatives and track performance against stated goals
  • Support and build relationships with key business and matrix partners spanning Sales, SmartAuction, Commercial Operations, Supply Chain, HR, and Finance
  • Utilize Workday and OneStream environment to provide consistent data accuracy and timely reporting


The Skills You Bring

Minimum Qualifications
  • 1+ years of experience
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1+ year of experience in financial analysis with strong business acumen.
  • Experience reporting on financial forecasts, P&L performance and operating metrics geared towards executive leadership
  • Advanced skills with Excel & PowerPoint
  • Bachelor's degree, with a degree in Finance or Accounting a plus
  • Experience with forecast modeling using OneStream and Workday Financial applications
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills; able to evaluate complex concepts and turn data into clear insights
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusted partnerships across a matrixed organization and engage senior management
  • Highly organized and self-motivated, with strong time management and the ability to manage multiple deliverables independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Interest/experience in Auto Finance operations

Base Pay Range $55000 - $95000 USD
An individual's position in the range is determined by the specific role, the scope and responsibilities of the role, work experience, education, certification(s), training, and additional qualifications. We review internal pay, the competitive market, and business environment prior to extending an offer.
Incentive Compensation: This position is eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan.
