JOB TITLE: Auto Electrician UG

BUSINESS UNIT: Shafts

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

To conduct maintenance and emergency repairs safely on auto-electrical equipment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

• Grade 12 (with Mathematics and Science) or NQF 4 equivalent is essential.

• Recognized relevant Trade Qualification or NTC 2 specialized course is essential.

• Medium Voltage Certificate is essential.

• 3 years' TMM Auto Electrician experience in a mining environment is essential

COMPETENCIES:

• Demonstrate knowledge pertaining to basic health and safety principles in the workplace.

• Understand basic electrical and mechanical engineering principles.

• Demonstrate an understanding of the uses and safety aspect associated with flammable energy sources.

• Understand and be able to read TMM Auto Electrical Schematics.

• Be able to do quality maintenance on TMM.

• Be able to attend to TMM electrical breakdowns.

• Perform basic firefighting.

• Perform basic first aid.

• Respond to hazardous and emergency conditions.

• Select, inspect, use, and maintain measurement, test and calibration equipment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Identifies and recommends initiatives aimed at eliminating waste, improving productivity, and reducing operating costs within scope and assists with the implementation thereof to contribute to the achievement of operational objectives.

• Supports and participates in change management initiatives to drive transformation and optimization.

• Advises management on business improvements initiatives identified.

• Builds, supports, and maintains healthy diverse internal and external relations and implements remedial actions where required.

• Provides relevant support to stakeholders to ensure team objectives are achieved.

• Adheres to safety regulations and mine standards, procedures and practices and reports non-compliance.

• Participates in regular safety meetings and makes recommendations to ensure overall safety.

• Performs regular inspections in area of work and report hazards to ensure environment is safety and hazard free and recommends remedial action where necessary.

• Perform Quality Maintenance on TMM

• Plan and organize all required spares for Electrical Maintenance
