INTERNAL & EXTERNAL APPLICATIONS

PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To conduct maintenance and emergency repairs safely on auto-electrical equipment

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

• Grade 12 /STD 10 (NQF 4) / N3 in trade related subjects is essential (External)
• Grade 12 /STD 10 (NQF 4) / N3 in trade related subjects is a distinct advantage (Internal)
• Recognised relevant Trade qualification (Section 13 or Section 26D) with proof of training) is essential.
• OR
• Proof of recognised completed apprenticeship contract (completed by means of effluxion of time)
• NTC 2 (relevant Trade Theory and specialised courses) is essential.
• At least 3 years' experience working underground is essential.
• Working experience on construction, maintenance of conveyor systems, fabrication, quality assurance is advantageous.
• A valid driver's licence and own transport is essential.
• Valid medical certificate or be medically fit to obtain such a certificate is essential

COMPETENCIES:

• Must be willing to perform standby duties as and when required
• Must have ability to maintain high standard of work
• Must be self-driven and highly motivated

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

• Assembling, fitting and repairing automobile auxiliary harnesses
• Fitting and wiring up auxiliary auto-electrical equipment
• Removing and fitting automobile mechanical and electrical components
• Removing, testing, fitting and servicing automobile batteries
• Servicing and repairing electronic and conventional automobile ignition systems
• Tracing and repairing faults on advanced auto-electrical circuits
• Diagnosing, testing, and repairing conventional automobile systems
• Leading the team, plan, and allocating and assessing their work
• Conducting on-the-job coaching
• Attending to callouts with regard to breakdowns
