Summary
Responsible for obtaining hospice and specialist authorizations for Medicaid & commercial payors through NCTracks, insurance portal, and/or phone call, faxing requested documentation, managing re-authorizations to ensure there is no lapse in authorizations.
Essential Functions
- Authorizations
- - Obtain authorization for hospice & palliative patients for NC & SC Medicaid, Managed Medicaid, & commercial payors
- - Submit requested forms and/or medical records per payor’s requirement
- - Monitor workflow to submit timely reauthorization requests
- Other Functions
- - Complete Financial worksheet to determine subsidy qualification.
- - Process Self-Pay/Charity R&B workflow and set-up.
- Insurance Verification
- - Assist with verification of Medicare, Medicaid, Managed Medicaid, & Commercial Payors eligibility and/or benefits through a clearinghouse, insurance portal, and/or phone call as needed
- May perform other duties as required
Qualifications
Minimum
Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications, training, or work experience.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience obtaining authorization & insurance verification (Ancillary & Professional services preferred)
- Minimum 1 years’ experience with NCTracks, Managed Medicaid, & Commercial Insurance web portals
- Excellent communication skills – Employee will need to speak with provider offices & insurance companies
