THE ROLE
The Area Manager for Australia will act as the local owner of the market, responsible for launching, growing, and structuring ALOHAS in Australia through a balanced wholesale and retail-led approach, with a strong focus on future store expansion.
You will work closely with HQ (Commercial, Retail, Brand, Finance) while being the single point of accountability on the ground.
YOUR CHALLENGE
Wholesale Development (40%)
Identify, open, and manage key wholesale accounts (premium boutiques & selected department stores)
Own seasonal sell-in, sell-out, and re-orders
Support partners on assortment, pricing, and merchandising
Ensure alignment with global pricing, margin, and brand guidelines
Monitor commercial KPIs (revenue, sell-through, margins, payment terms)
Retail Explansion & Operations (30%)
Lead retail market entry strategy for Australia
Scout and evaluate prime retail locations (Sydney & Melbourne first)
Build store P&L models, ROI and payback scenarios
Support pop-ups, temporary stores, and brand activations
Act as local operator for:
Store opening execution
Local hiring & training (with HQ support)
Ongoing store performance once live
Be the key local voice in retail expansion decisions
Brand & Market Development (20%)
Establish ALOHAS as a desirable, premium brand in the Australian market
Build relationships with stylists, editors, and local creators
Coordinate with PR agencies if/when relevant
Provide structured market feedback to HQ (product, fit, pricing, trends)
Market Ownership & Reporting (10%)
Own the Australia P&L
Deliver:
Weekly commercial updates
Monthly performance & insights reports
Act as the bridge between HQ strategy and local execution
Continuously assess scalability and long-term APAC potential
YOU WILL ROCK AT THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE...
5–10+ years experience in fashion / footwear / accessories
Strong wholesale and retail network in Australia
Experience launching or scaling brands in the AU market
Commercially strong with solid understanding of P&L dynamics
Highly autonomous, entrepreneurial, and execution-driven
Comfortable working solo in early-stage market setups

The history:
The brand was founded in 2015 in Honolulu, Hawaii by current CEO, Alejandro Porras. He was inspired by seeing locals react to his Avarcas, a popular type of sandal from Menorca, Spain, known for their simplicity and ease of use. He decided to talk business in Hawaii and began expanding not only his product offering but also his business sights.
Back to basics and looking to put a spin on the traditional Espadrille, our creative team works from our headquarters in Barcelona to design finely crafted shoes for rain or shine seasons, all produced by trusted artisans in nearby production facilities.
The brand has already strategically positioned itself in Moda Operandi, La Rinascente, Zalando, Revolve, The Iconic and El Corte Inglés, thus covering some of the largest and most exclusive online points of sale across different continents.
ALOHAS is well known for many of its IG collaborations and registered a 1.1 million turnover in 2018 (without investors). This was driven by its ongoing investments into logistics infrastructure and product diversification together with an ever growing online presence.
